OC invites community to get in the holiday spirit with Cocoa and Carols Dec. 5
The free holiday event is fun for all ages and will feature musical performances in the Garvey Center.
Dec. 4, 2019 - Oklahoma Christian University’s 43rd annual Cocoa and Carols is a free event that features all of OC’s music ensembles performing holiday favorites. Cocoa and Carols will take place on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Garvey Center. Hot cocoa and cider are provided in the conservatory for all attendees following the concert. The ensembles performing include the choirs, symphonic band and jazz band. There will be one big performance of “White Christmas” with all of the ensembles at the end of the concert, featuring senior Megan Deister, and the tradition of falling “snow” will live on.
Chamber Singers President and senior public relations student Elizabeth Killough considers Cocoa and Carols one of her favorite events of the year.
“I love all of the joy that comes with the holiday season,” said Killough. “This concert brings OC together and is a great morale booster for the community to push on to Christmas break”
Cocoa and Carols is free and open to people of all ages, who are invited to hear their favorite Christmas songs and enjoy some holiday beverages.
