OC dedicates Sparks Social Media Command Center homecoming weekend.

November 2, 2019 - OC's Department of Communication opened a Social Media Command Center this year; it was made possible by generous donations to OC. These funds went to remodel and update the space for Eagle PR and to install social media analytics tracking screens. Eagle PR is an award-winning, student-run PR firm on campus working for real clients, and it also competes in national campaign competitions. The Social Media Command Center features social media analytics programs to analyze trends and activities on a number of channels, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Social media professional Chris Strub recently visited OC, and he led an analytics seminar using Twitonomy in the new space. He was especially impressed with the large touchscreen.

In addition, construction on OC's new Kicker Audio Lab is almost complete. The new studio will be used by both the Departments of Music and Art + Design for designing video game audio, among other uses. The lab includes a "Wall of Boom" designed by Kicker sound design engineers. The recording studio equipment was made possible by a donation from Dr. Joseph Adams.
