Paula Hutton, a now-retired associate professor of music, taught in Oklahoma Christian University’s Music Program for more than 30 years. Now, OC has decided to recognize her outstanding work by dedicating a new piano lab to her name.

The Paula Hutton Piano Lab holds 15 pianos and is paired with technology to help students access apps for practicing and playing the piano. Hutton was thrilled and humbled to have her love for her students and music be honored in this way.

Kenzie Murphy, a junior vocal music education major at OC, is thankful for the help of Hutton and knows how deserving she is.

“Lessons with Dr. Hutton are the highlight of my week,” Murphy said. “Dr. Hutton has taught me so much during my short time here at OC. The impact she makes on her students makes her the perfect candidate for this honor. The new lab has already been a huge help to the music students.”
