OC’s Jazz Band and Steel Drums Fall Concert held on Oct. 27
The Oklahoma Christian University Music Program invited the community to the free Jazz Band and Steel Drum Fall Concert. The live jazz concert was held in Judd Theatre on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
The Music Program has created various opportunities for the students to showcase their musical talents, by planning six different performances this semester alone.
OC’s Music students performed many jazz classics. Last April, the students performed classics such as: “May’s Way,” “Vehicle,” “But not for Me” and “Barnburner.” Last semester’s performance even included some Jimmy Buffet songs by the Steel Drum ensemble.
The OC Music program is filled with both passionate staff and students, which is reflected in their performance. Not only is the Jazz Band and Steel Drum concert a great place to experience live jazz, but it also benefits OC Music students, as they gain confidence and experience.
