OC welcomes Jonathan P. Miller as associate professor of psychology

Miller joins OC's Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

September 20, 2019 - Jonathan P. Miller joined Oklahoma Christian University as an associate professor for the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences. He will teach both upper-level and general education psychology classes.

“I’m really excited to get some of those freshman-level courses,” Miller said. “I like to be able to get to know people early in their time in college, and I enjoy getting to know some students outside of the psychology major.”

Miller came to OC from a 13-year teaching position at Ohio Valley University. He served as the Chair of the School of Behavioral Sciences as well as faculty athletic representative and as a full professor.

Miller was born and raised near Toledo, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lipscomb University, graduating summa cum laude in 1998. From there, he received his master’s degree in clinical psychology from Abilene Christian University in 2000. Lastly, he received his Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience from Bowling Green State University in 2005.

Miller is no stranger to a Church of Christ-affiliated school. OC is the fourth college he has attended or taught at with ties to the Church of Christ.

Miller said he enjoys OC’s atmosphere and the small, Christian community it provides.
