OC Communication Program hosts “Let’s Taco Bout Comm” event to highlight student opportunities
Eagle PR, Oklahoma Christian University’s student-run PR firm, hosted “Let’s Taco Bout Comm” a few weeks ago. The event provided OC students with information on what the Communication Program has to offer in regard to majors, minors and extracurricular scholarship programs like Eagle PR, Eagle Media, the Talon online newspaper and Taking Sides Debate Chapel. At the event, the students gave out free tacos and provided degree plans for the various majors and minors.
The Communication Program offers four degrees: Communication and Leadership, Film and Media Production, Journalism and Public Relations and Social Media.
There are also five options for minors that students can add to their degree plan. These include Social Media, Leadership, Mass Communication, Communication Studies and Media Production. All of these have an 18-hour requirement in order to complete.

Assistant Professor of Communication Dave Jurney advises Eagle Media, which includes the live television newscast Eagle Angle every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Distinguished Professor of Communication Philip Patterson advises the Talon. Associate Professor of Communication Josh Watson advises Eagle PR.
In addition, OC’s Communication Program also offers a new master’s degree in Leadership.
