OC's student-led newspaper, The Talon, will serve as a media partner of the Edmond SD 47 debate on Oct. 16
Oklahoma Christian University’s student-led newspaper, The Talon, will serve as one of the media partners for the upcoming Edmond and Oklahoma City Senate District debate on Oct. 16. The debate will begin at 5:45 p.m at the Francis Tuttle Technology Center’s Rockwell campus in Oklahoma City. The candidates, retired U.S. Army Col. Kelly Hines and business owner Erin Brewer, will debate on various topics related to the future of Edmond.
"I'm excited to work with NonDoc on this debate,” Editor-In-Chief of The Talon Faithanna Olsson said. “This opportunity will allow The Talon to go beyond the campus doors and serve a broader community. Especially with OC being a polling place, we need to inform voters about the elections happening in our backyard. We will still have students at the forefront of our mind, though, and plan to bring issues important to student voters to light.”
The debate is free and open to the public. It will be live-streamed on the News 9 website and Facebook page.
