OC’s Language and Literature Program hosted Oklahoma Christian Academy students
OCA’s concurrent English students received the chance to look behind the scenes of other English classes on campus.
High school students often do not know what to expect of college classes. The unknown can be intimidating, so Oklahoma Christian University’s Language and Literature Program sought to help bring clarity to a group of high school students who visited OC in March.
Composition II students from Oklahoma Christian Academy visited OC March 9 to see and learn more about OC’s English Department. This is their fourth annual trip put together by Associate Professor of English Nathan Shank for OCA students to explore OC.
While on campus, the students had an opportunity to observe a class and attend a research workshop with Theological Librarian Chris Rosser. They experienced life at OC, receiving a tour of campus and eating lunch in The Branch together.
This opportunity is important for students to see the mechanics of what classes could look like for them in the future, and to see different types of involvement they could take part in at OC. The university looks forward to hosting more students on campus next year for the fifth annual visit, and ultimately hopes to see them again as enrolled Eagles.
