Two prominent guests visit OC’s classes with Associate Professor of Political Science Trey Orndorff

U.S. Sen. Lankford and Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson visited OC in February and March.

Oklahoma Christian University has a history of hosting many prominent speakers to speak to students. Recently, OC students heard from U.S. Sen. James Lankford and Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson. They spoke in Associate Professor of Political Science Trey Orndorff’s Political Science and Government classes.

In February, Sen. Lankford took time out of his busy day to visit with OC students. He expressed his thoughts and experience after his visit.

“Students had great questions and great interaction,” he said. “It was fun to have that dialogue with the students.”

Toward the end of March, Johnson also visited OC and spoke to students about his experiences as a leader in the professional world. Johnson is heralded for being the first and youngest African American sheriff in Oklahoma County’s history. Orndorff expressed his gratitude for the chance to learn from successful leaders’ experiences and wisdom.

“At OC, we strive to get even our intro students in with real world leaders,” Orndorff said
