Children’s ministries are crucially important to the work of churches around the country, and Oklahoma Chrsitian University seeks to help church leaders strengthen that work. Each year, OC offers its Children's Ministry Seminar to do just that. This year’s event will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 next to OC at the Memorial Road church of Christ’s Summit building. This year’s theme will be “Tell His Story.”

The seminar, started in 2017, was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 concerns.

Barbara Price, the director of OC’s Children’s Ministry Programs, looks forward to the seminar.

“I’m excited for people to get back together again to sit down one-on-one and connect,” she said.

Keynote speakers at the seminar include Keith Ferrin, a speaker and an author, and Heidi M. Hensley, Shadow Mountain Community Church’s executive children's director, alongside breakout speakers such as OC’s Chris Rosser, theological librarian, and Kelsey Herndon, assistant director of international programs.

The topics include Creative Teaching, Learning to Listen: Ministering to the LGBTQ+ Community, How Do We Help This Kid? Creating Inclusion in Your Congregation and Becoming Kidmissional.
