OC Music students to help celebrate annual Lighting of the Commons Nov. 1

Music students will sing and perform holiday favorites alongside Santa, hot cocoa and fireworks at 6 p.m.

Oklahoma Christian University Music students will help celebrate the free annual holiday event “Lighting of the Commons” Nov. 1. It will take place in Lawson Commons as part of the homecoming festivities this year. Past years have featured Music students in Chorale, Jazz Band, Summer Singers, Chamber Orchestra and New Reign playing and singing classic Christmas and holiday songs.

There will be a photo opportunity with Santa Claus, mugs for sale for hot chocolate, sleigh rides, fireworks and more! Students, employees, alumni and the community are invited to enjoy the free event starting at 6 p.m. 

In addition to the festivities, attendees are encouraged to write letters to soldiers serving in the military. Names, addresses and supplies are available in the student center.
