OC’s Chorale gave a moving performance at the Associates Gala

The Chorale performed a few songs, including the traditional song “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”

Just a few weeks ago, Oklahoma Christian University hosted its annual Associates Gala for the first time in two years. The event is held to commemorate the associates who have given $1,000 or more each year to the university. OC’s own Chorale performed at the Gala, and the student singers closed the night with two songs.

The last song the Chorale performed was “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” This song is a tradition at OC, and a personal favorite of President deSteiguer. He applauded the Chorale and Professor of Music Kyle Pullen.

“OC is blessed by such talented students, and I appreciate Dr. Pullen’s leadership of the Chorale,” deSteiguer said. “They were the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. I sometimes take for granted how moving and powerful the Chorale’s performance is.”

There were several prominent members of Oklahoma’s healthcare system in attendance that night that were touched by the performance. It produced an emotional response that could be seen from those in the audience.

To experience the moving work of the Chorale, please listen to this recording, from a few years ago, of “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”
