OC’s Communication program launches new master’s degree and certificate
Oklahoma Christian University’s Communication Program is ecstatic to have recently launched a new Master of Arts in Leadership and a graduate Certificate in Peacemaking and Social Justice. The master’s program consists of 12 core hours, nine elective hours and nine track hours. Some of these hours include the courses Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking, Leadership and Ethics, Global Leadership, Intercultural Communication and Social Entrepreneurship.
With this master’s degree, students will have an advanced understanding of core leadership knowledge, advanced skills in conflict resolution and peacemaking, effective leadership communication and problem analysis and solution implementation.
Those interested in the new degree should visit with Assistant Professor of Communication John Osborne, who also leads OC’s International Programs.
“The OC master's degree in leadership is a great opportunity for students to learn more about leadership and to mature their leadership skills,” Osborne said.
The new Certificate in Peacemaking and Social Justice is a graduate-level program of study for
those who wish to learn the fundamentals of mediation, conflict resolution, peacemaking and social justice. This certificate is especially useful for ministers, public school teachers, community workers and nonprofit leaders, as well as business leaders who wish to learn more about creating peaceful and just communities, societies and work environments.
Those interested in the new certificate should visit with Professor of Communication David Lowry, who designed it.
