OC Communication alumni were honored by the American Marketing Association
Oklahoma Christian University's Communication Program was well-represented recently in the Marketing Excellence Awards by the Oklahoma City chapter of the American Marketing Association.
The top award, Best of Show, went to the campaign for local nonprofit Calm Waters, which is led by OC Public Relations alumna Erin Engelke. She worked with the local agency Coin Creative for the campaign.
Smirk New Media, co-owned by PR alumna Alle Carrick, won multiple awards in many categories as well. Smirk’s incredibly impressive night continued with Carrick herself receiving the Young Professional of the Year Award.
The award for Large Budget Agency Award went to Freestyle Creative and The Gooden Group for the Oklahoma City-County Health Department campaign. The Gooden Group is co-owned by PR alumna Katy King. PR alumna Kelly Foxx and English alumna and Communication minor Katie Fabrie also work on this team at The Gooden Group.
The Cause Marketing In-House award went to MidFirst Bank, featuring PR alumna Leigh Williams, who serves as director of internal corporate communications.
Congratulations to these impressive alumni!
