Auditions for OC’s spring opera will be Oct. 22 in the Adams Recital Hall
Once again, Oklahoma Christian University’s Music Program is performing opera scenes in the spring semester. Auditions for that performance will be Oct. 22 in Adams Recital Hall. Students can sign up for times between 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In the past, the students performed three highlights from Mozart’s “Singspiels: Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail” (Abduction from the Seraglio), “Der Schauspeildirektor” (The Impresario) and “Die Zauberflote” (The Magic Flute). These performances were presented in a semi-concert style with minimal sets and props. This semi-concert went extraordinarily well and OC is excited to see what the Music Program has in store for the performance next semester.
For the auditions on Oct. 22, all materials and instructions are available outside the Music office. These include choosing an aria or art song and providing sheet music for the pianist. Good luck to those who will be auditioning for this upcoming audition! Email any questions to Adjunct voice teacher Laura Coale at laura.coale@oc.edu. Callbacks will be Oct. 23.
