OC Invites the Community to 47th annual Cocoa and Carols on Nov. 9

Music students will also perform Christmas-themed songs at OC’s Lighting of the Commons on Nov. 7.

Oklahoma Christian University will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with its 47th annual Cocoa and Carols, a free event full of performances by OC Music students on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Garvey Center. This Christmas concert features OC’s instrumental and vocal ensembles, choirs, and bands. There will be hot cocoa and apple cider at intermission in the McIntosh Conservatory.

OC will start the holiday festivities two days earlier with the Lighting of the Commons on Nov. 7 from 6-8 p.m. Music students will also perform at this annual event in the Lawson Commons, in which the campus Christmas lights are turned on and celebrated with fireworks.

The two events are open to people of all ages to enjoy a magical night full of Christmas music with friends or family!

At last year’s events, there were also photo opportunities with Santa Claus, mugs for sale for hot chocolate, and sleigh rides. In addition to the festivities, attendees were encouraged to write letters to soldiers serving in the military. Names, addresses and supplies were available in the student center.
