OC’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program provided free anxiety screenings for students in September
With fall mid-term exams now completed, college students are feeling stressed. In September, the Oklahoma Christian University Marriage and Family Therapy Program provided free 30-minute anxiety screenings for students. This consisted of a short anxiety assessment, feedback about anxiety levels and recommendations specific to each student’s needs. Faculty supervisors provided oversight and tips to the OC graduate students serving as therapists-intraining during the process.
The screenings by the OC MFT Program included Professor of Psychology Ryan Newell, Associate Professor of Family Science Bobby Kern, Professor of Psychology Tina Winn and Family Therapy Clinic Director Jennifer Patterson. Some of the graduate students who participated were Chris Dallimore, Josiah Javellana, Shaniya Witcher, Cassidy Daye, Lauren Stoll, Amy Cowdrey and Jamy Hamilton.
